Conversion gap
A conversion gap is when an AI answer cites a brand’s own domain as a source but never names the brand in the answer. The reader absorbs the content and credits the AI; the brand did the work and stayed invisible.
In the mention/citation quadrant, a conversion gap is cited = yes, mentioned = no. It signals that the content earned its place (it was cited) but does not carry the brand inside the quotable sentence the model lifts.
The fixed move is attribution, not a rewrite: anchor the brand name next to the claims an engine is likely to quote, then re-run the prompt and check whether the answer moved. No honest method promises the AI will comply — it makes the brand harder to strip out of the sentence, and verifies the result.
